Sandcastles Before & Afterschool and Summer Camp

to hold “THE” Open House of the year

Save the date for the biggest open house event in collaboration with the Bethlehem Lutheran School on Wednesday, May 5th at 6:00 pm. Participants will include local business leaders, educators and other officials. The event will highlight the New SC Teen Zone now open for grades 6-8. Our main focus is keeping students safe and healthy; support their academic day, relieving working parents of worries about their student’s activities during the afternoon hours. Hundreds of parents, supporters and community members are expected to attend.

What: Open House Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

When: 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Where: SandCastles Afterschool (located on Bethlehem Lutheran Church Campus)

Who: Keynote Speaker John R. Koczman

The SandCastles before and after school program opened in May 1998. It now serves approximately 200 students, providing homework assistance, tutoring, mentoring, tournaments, clubs, sports, recreation, fun academic activities, and more. We implement daily lesson plans to help close the achievement gap in collaboration with the California board of education.

We believe in afterschool care for All

Because students with disabilities are separated from those without, both groups often have limited opportunities to develop typical peer relationships with each other. Classroom diversity isn’t just about race or ethnicity, it must also be about bringing students together with different abilities and showing all students that being “different” isn’t so unusual. Afterschool programs can provide all students with a chance to interact, learn about each other and learn social skills that will guide them throughout their lives.

We need quality affordable programs for ALL students and families. As studies show, kids in afterschool programs do better in school, achieve higher levels of educations, and have greater expectations for the future.
